| Self Description | | I am 56 years young, love working with children and enjoy being with people. I'm somewhat shy but enjoy a multitude of activities. I can be very quiet at times but not moody. I love animals and my favorite type of pet is a dog. I like cats but tend to be more allergic to them than dogs. I've never been married although it was always a dream of mine to have someone to share my life. I am a special education teacher and can't think of a better profession for me. I enjoy music and play guitar, mostly for church and christian groups. I come from a large family and am oldest girl of eleven children. Family is important to me, as are good morals, values and ethics. Respect and caring for others are also very important. I enjoy volunteering for different things. I volunteer teaching English to Hispanics as well as helping to assist those who are homeless. I have been given many gifts and talents by God and love to use them when I can. I'm inventive and creative and have an artistic side. I enjoy many activities such as reading, movies, games, some sports (although lately a little limited due to some health problems, ) creativity through arts and crafts, calligraphy, music and much more. I love to learn new things and currently attend a weekly bible study group. I have a guitar partner, Greg, and enjoy making music with him. I am close friends with him and his lovely wife. Our music is usually considered very spiritual and we have a unique blend. I am 5'4", recently lost 145 pounds and have kept it off. I'm proud of this difficult achievement. I have brown hair and brown eyes. For some reason I have a head full of trivia knowledge; a testament to liking to learn new things. I'm very good with children and have worked with all ages from infancy to adult with multiply impaired and severely disabled people as well as mild learning disabilities. Teaching is a passion of mine and I volunteer tutor whenever I am needed. I like to laugh, have a good sense of humor and enjoy being with others who also have a good sense of humor and a sense of fun. I like to meet with friends for evenings of fun. I do not drink or smoke. I have never been a user of drugs and don't believe in the need for that type of recreational activity. God is first and foremost in my life and I could not possibly survive without him. My faith is very important to me. I'm sure I'm probably forgetting to mention other things but am not sure what else to say and just a little nervous about all this. I've never tried something like this before. I enjoy challenges. My belief in others is important and try to live by the "Golden Rule." I have a pleasant personality and like to laugh. I'm looking for someone to be a friend and if it goes beyond that is up to God. I also love to shop although not always spend! I'm interested in finding someone to share time with and friendship that is supportive and honest. I do not believe in sex outside of marriage, abortion, or capital punishment. |
